I'm such a fan of buttons. The ones you chose are a perfect compliment to the loafer look. The wrong buttons can ruin the look of a garment you've spent so much work on. It's not unusual for me to spend as much on the buttons as I do on the yarn. It's sick. I bought Beatrice Potter buttons for Kate and Ashley's sweaters, and they were outrageously expensive. Not sure if the girls wore the sweaters, but the buttons were darling...
I've seen those Beatrice Potter buttons at Joann's and I love them! I've spent way too much time in my life worrying over buttons. There are just too many choices, and I can never decide. Maybe in the future, I will choose the buttons first, and then the yarn, and then the pattern.
I just looked them up on etsy, and people are selling them for only $10-18! I could never compete with that. That's like $5 an hour, if you have really cheap yarn, but I think I spent that much just on the yarn. I'm gonna start directing people there when they ask me to make them.
